You'll get a front-row seat to the planning and preparation that happens behind the scenes while getting to be part of executing the ministry as well!

Cherry Hills Kids
Children Birth-Elementary
Gain a comprehensive Children’s ministry experience working with kids from birth through 5th grade while developing leadership by guiding volunteers. You’ll practice volunteer recruitment, help create age-specific curriculum, and build communication skills by teaching across different groups. Additionally, you’ll enhance your event planning abilities by organizing a family-friendly summer event.

Middle & High School Students
Immerse yourself in Student Ministry by leading small groups, planning curriculum, and engaging in family outreach. Develop communication skills through teaching opportunities and collaborate with a team to organize one or two summer events. Participate in strategic planning meetings and a team book study for deeper ministry growth.

Explore how creativity honors God and tells His greater story within the local church. Gain hands-on experience in photography, videography, graphic design, social media, and more. Lead creative projects from concept to completion, assist with vision casting for events and services, and support the creative staff, developing diverse skills along the way.

Guest Services, First Impressions
Join the hospitality team to support CHCC’s mission by fostering community and belonging. Help create a welcoming atmosphere for guests, assist with baptism events and membership classes, and aid in planning and executing ministry events. You’ll also coordinate logistics for staff morale initiatives, contributing to a vibrant church experience.
Pastoral Care
Comfort for the Hurting
Gain insight into how Pastoral Care supports CHCC’s mission through presence, companioning, and active listening. Assist in coordinating weddings and memorial services, shadow a Pastoral Care visitation, and engage in the church’s prayer ministry. You’ll also participate actively in weekly Pastoral Care team meetings.
Worship
Creative & Music
Help plan and execute experiences that connect people to the presence of Jesus. Gain hands-on experience in various worship settings, assist with writing original songs, and support the music director in preparing materials for volunteers. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn how worship programming supports CHCC’s mission.
Production
Audio, Video, Lighting
Learn how production enhances and supports all ministries at CHCC. Assist with setting up, staging, and executing weekend services and campus-wide events while gaining hands-on experience with high-quality gear. Learn about the creative process, sound engineering, lighting design, and live video directing. Additionally, support the team in organizing and maintaining production equipment to improve efficiencies.

We know there is a cycle out there that’s hard to break into: You need experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience. If you are passionate about serving God in your career and feel you may be called to ministry, an internship can help you find your calling.
Gain valuable life skills and experience while taking part in ministry as you work alongside gifted leaders who love teaching others how to do what they do.

FAQ'S
Although interns are not paid, we do give each intern a $3000 honorarium over the summer!
For students without family in the area, we can provide a Host Family for you to stay with. Host homes are generous volunteers who want to provide a home away from home for you. They are not expected to provide meals or transportation.
The applications do not have a specific deadline, but are instead open until filled. We recommend applying early as some internships fill very quickly!
Yes, each intern is responsible for their own transportation to and from Highlands Ranch, as well as the entire time they are in Highlands Ranch. It is required that each intern have their own car over the summer.
While the numbers vary each summer, this summer we can take only 20 people.
Students who are accepted in the internship program will be immersed in ministry for 12 weeks starting in May and concluding in August. Interns can participate in the internship program within the relevant ministry hours. Ministry core working hours are Sunday-Thursday 9:00 – 3:00pm, but schedules may vary outside those hours depending on the ministry.
