We are committed to love as a commandment and seek to demonstrate Christ’s love through compassionate service to others.

We are committed to discipleship as a lifelong journey of growing in relationship with God and becoming more like Jesus, and seek to empower individuals to fulfill their God-given purpose within a supportive community.

Our Core Values

Love God, Love People

We believe that all people were made in the image of God and as such we love and value everyone. We commit to demonstrate God’s love to others through our actions and compassion to meet the practical, emotional and spiritual needs of our community. This is driven by our love for God that manifests itself through obedience to His Word and a sacrifice of worship throughout our lives.
(Matthew 22:36-40 , 1 Corinthians 13:2, 1 John 4:12, 1 Peter 4:8, John 15:12, 1 Corinthians 13:13, Romans 12:10)

Rooted in the Bible

We love the Word of God and desire to be in it daily, to understand it contextually, to hear from God through His Spirit and apply it to our lives in order to be all that God intends us to be. *Cherry Hills believes EPC Essentials of Our Faith and Westminster Confession of Faith as modified by the EPC best represent what is “Essential” to the Faith. We hold dear the EPC belief that we are Unity in the Essentials, Liberty in the Non-Essentials and Charity in all things.
(2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 19:7-11, 2 John 1:9-11, John 1:1, Hebrews 4:12, Jeremiah 15:16)

Wholly Reliant on God

We desire that everything we do at Cherry Hills be preceded and surrounded by prayer. Despite being flawed in so many ways, we seek to be humble people, so that He, not us, receives the glory for every good thing at Cherry Hills.
(Philippians 4:6-7, Psalm 55:22, Joshua 6, 1 Peter 5:7)

Building Community

We are a community of believers that thrives on being together, celebrating the sacraments and encouraging each other towards spiritual growth. We seek to make a big church small, proving a variety of ways to connect and deepen relationships and faith. This extends beyond our walls to serving and engaging our local community in ways that demonstrate God’s love.
(1 Thessalonians 2:8; Matthew 18:20, Acts 2:42-47, Psalm 55: 13-14, 1 John 1:17, Proverbs 27:17, Hebrew (Matthew 22:36-40 , 1 Corinthians 13:2, 1 John 4:12, 1 Peter 4:8, John 15:12, 1 Corinthians 13:13, Romans 12:10)

Invitational

We are a church that finds joy in inviting everyone to experience church in all its formats. This invitation extends beyond a church building, inviting others into our homes and our lives in order that they might come to know Jesus as their Savior.
(John 1:39-41, 1 Thessalonians 2:8, Matthew 4:18-20, Romans 10:14, Matthew 9:9-12) (2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 19:7-11, 2 John 1:9-11, John 1:1, Hebrews 4:12, Jeremiah 15:16)

Inter-Generational

We believe we are the body of Christ and each of us regardless of age has a part to play. Our desire is to win and pastor all generations. We belong to Christ and as such we all belong to His family.
(Psalm 145:4-7, Ephesians 5:18-21, Colossians 3:16, Mark 10:14, 1 Timothy 5:1-2, 1 Peter 5:5, Acts 2:17/ Joel 2:28, 1 Peter 5:3, 2 Timothy 1:5, 1 Timothy 4:12, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27) (Philippians 4:6-7, Psalm 55:22, Joshua 6, 1 Peter 5:7)

Excellence for the Glory of God

God’s creativity and perfection surround us in creation. He has graciously given us gifts, talents, and resources that we desire to steward and perfect. Through our ministry programming and campus facilities, we strive for excellence for the glory of God.
(1 Corinthians 10:31, Colossians 3:23, Daniel 1:20, Daniel 6:3, Philippians 4:8, 1 Corinthians (1 Thessalonians 2:8; Matthew 18:20, Acts 2:42-47, Psalm 55: 13-14, 1 John 1:17, Proverbs 27:17, Hebrew (Matthew 22:36-40 , 1 Corinthians 13:2, 1 John 4:12, 1 Peter 4:8, John 15:12, 1 Corinthians 13:13, Romans 12:10)

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Cherry Hills Community Church is a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) and follows the Essentials of the Faith laid out by the EPC:

THE BIBLE
All Scripture is self-attesting and being Truth, requires our unreserved submission in all areas of life. The infallible Word of God, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is a complete and unified witness to God’s redemptive acts culminating in the incarnation of the Living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible, uniquely and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. On this foundation we affirm the following as Essentials of Our Faith:

ONE GOD
We believe in one God, the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To him be all honor, glory and praise forever!

JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ, the living Word, became flesh through his miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and his virgin birth. He who is true God became true man united in one person forever. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. On the third day he arose bodily from the dead, he ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, he now is our High Priest and Mediator.

THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit has come to glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to our hearts. He convicts of sin and draws us to the Savior. Indwelling our hearts, he gives new life to us, empowers and imparts gifts to us for service, and seals us for the day of redemption.

SALVATION
Being estranged from God, and condemned by our sin nature our salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God’s free grace; God credits his righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justifies them in his sight. Only those who are born of the Holy Spirit and receive Jesus Christ become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

THE CHURCH
The true Church is composed of all persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, are united together in the body of Christ. The Church finds her visible, yet imperfect, expression in local congregations where the Word of God is preached in its purity and the sacraments are administered in their integrity; where scriptural discipline is practiced, and where loving fellowship is maintained. For her perfecting, she awaits the return of her Lord.

THE RETURN OF CHRIST
Jesus Christ will come again to the earth— personally, visibly, and bodily—to judge the living and the dead and to consummate history and the eternal plan of God. Even so, “come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20 NASB)

THE GREAT COMMISSION
The Lord Jesus Christ demands all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations. Obedience to the Great Commission requires total commitment to him who “loved us and gave himself for us.” He calls us to a life of self-denying love and service. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 5:2, 2:10 NASB)
