Serve Our Community Together
The Cherry Hills community unites annually for Love Extended, a special weekend dedicated to stepping out of our regular routines and jumping into local service projects. This year on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, we are partnering with incredible nonprofits and community organizations right here in Douglas County and the surrounding areas to meet real, tangible needs.
If you are new to Cherry Hills, this is one of the absolute best ways to experience who we are. Love Extended is not about just talking about the love of Jesus; it is about rolling up our sleeves and living it out together. There is a meaningful place for you, your friends, and your entire family to make a difference: whether you are hitting the streets for a community prayer walk, assembling care baskets for our local fire and police stations, writing notes of encouragement, or getting hands-on with construction and mechanical projects.
Christian Brothers
Saturday, October 3
This project is designed to bring practical support and intentional care to under-resourced families in our community. In partnership with Christian Brothers Automotive and the Manna Resource Center, we will be hosting a special day of service where guests receive free oil changes and safety inspections. While vehicles are being serviced, the real magic happens as we host a fun-filled day with food, kids’ activities, and great conversation. Come join us as we build meaningful connections and make sure every single guest feels seen, known, and loved!
Inner City
Sunday, October 4
This project is designed for volunteers of all ages to serve in the heart of Denver in partnership with His Love Fellowship Church. We will kick off the day with a variety of hands-on projects, including packing and delivering food baskets to our unhoused neighbors, sprucing up local yards, and helping with minor repairs around the church building. This is a wonderfully family-friendly environment where kids and parents can work side-by-side. Come join us as we unite as one church family to love and serve our city together!
Yard Work at Homes

This project is designed to bring hope and practical help directly to the doorsteps of homeowners in our community. We will gather to tackle light yard cleanup and outdoor projects, working side-by-side with local residents to freshen up their properties. But this day is about so much more than raking leaves—it is an opportunity to share meaningful conversation, offer encouragement, and show the love of Christ in simple, tangible ways. Join us as we work together to make sure every homeowner we visit feels seen, known, and deeply cared for!
Prayer Walk

This project is designed for anyone looking to pause, reflect, and lift up our community through a guided prayer walk around our campus. We will gather together to walk a designated route, stopping at special stations to pray for our church, school families, and the surrounding neighborhood. You are invited to share your prayers out loud or hold them in silent meditation—come exactly as you are comfortable. It is a beautiful opportunity to connect with God and each other in a peaceful, welcoming space.
Kids & Families: First Responder Blessings
Sunday, October 4
This project is designed specifically for Cherry Hills kids and their families to make a difference together! We will start the day with hands-on creativity—making colorful cards, writing notes of encouragement, and assembling care baskets filled with goodies. Then comes the best part: we will divide into teams to personally deliver those cards and baskets to our local fire and police stations to surprise and celebrate our hometown heroes.
Students
Sunday, October 4
This project is designed specifically for our students to team up, have fun, and make a massive impact in our local community together! We will jump-start the day with high-energy team building and hands-on preparation for our service projects. Then, we will head out into the community to put our faith into action through exciting, hands-on service and outreach. It is going to be an unforgettable day of serving others, strengthening friendships, and living out the love of Christ together!

I’m new to Cherry Hills. Can I still participate?
Absolutely! In fact, Love Extended is one of the best ways to get plugged in and meet people. You do not need to be a long-time member or have everything figured out to join us. Everyone is welcome to serve!
When does Love Extended take place?
This year’s event takes place over the weekend of October 3 and October 4. The main event and the majority of our projects are on Sunday, October 4, with the exception of our Christian Brothers serving track, which takes place on Saturday, October 3.
What does it look like to be a Project Team Lead?
We are looking for leaders specifically for our Homes projects! As a Team Lead, you will help coordinate with the homeowner ahead of time to get a scope of what their specific yard or house needs, communicate any supply or tool requests back to our Missions team, and cheer on your serving team the day of the event. It is a fantastic way to take your impact a step further!
I know someone who could really use some help with yard work. Can I nominate them?
Yes, please! We love finding new opportunities to love on our neighbors, especially those who might need a little extra support right now. You can nominate a local household by clicking here, and our team will review the details to see if it is a fit for our project list.
Can I bring my kids with me to volunteer?
Yes! We love when families serve together. While some projects, like certain home repair tasks, might have age limits for safety, we have plenty of family-friendly options, including our dedicated Kids and Prayer Walk areas.
Do I need any special skills or tools?
Not at all. Whether you are a skilled handyman or prefer sit-down projects like assembling first responder care baskets and writing encouragement notes, we have a spot for you. For projects that require specific tools or skills, your project leader will let you know in advance, but we provide everything needed for the vast majority of our sites.
What should I wear on the day of the event?
Wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting a little dirty, along with closed-toe shoes, especially for outdoor or hands-on projects. We will also provide you with more specific details and a Love Extended t-shirt closer to the event!
