Sunday Spotlight

Chaplain Troy Bates is on active duty assigned to the 743rd Military Intelligence Battalion, Buckley Air Force Base, whose unit we provided Thanksgiving Dinners. Chaplain Bates was a family pastor/counselor for 25 years before joining the Army to be a Chaplain. He has two masters, one in Apologetics and one in Military Chaplaincy. Troy and his wife, Duchess, call Homer, Alaska, home and they love to visit their "quiet little drinking village with a fishing problem." They are the parents of five amazing children. Troy's faith has been a constant companion since he was 16, and he has learned that life is better in community and life is better with faith. Troy and Duchess will be joining us at the gathering following today’s service.

Section Gathering

Sunday, February 19, 10:15 a.m., in the Orchard Room of Dixon Chapel. Please join us for a military-style chili cook-off and praying for Chaplain Bates and his wife. We will also be hearing from our own Charlsey Mahle as she shares life stories as a military wife.

Together Experience

Our annual Together Experience is underway. The concept is simple yet powerful: meet with a small group of people for five weeks, then see what God does. If you are interested in hosting a small group, please contact Brian Kreps at bkreps@chcc.org or Kelsi Boyd at kboyd@chcc.org.

Who’s Your Neighbor?

“Appreciate those who love you. Serve those who need you. Forgive those who hurt you. Thank those who help you.” – anonymous

Let’s start a new movement for our community and intentionally get outside of our box. Let’s get to know our church neighbors that sit around us! The next time we see snow in the forcast for Sunday, let's all invite our neighbors to Paintbrush Park for sledding after the 11 a.m. service.

Internationals in our Community

Sundays @ 11 a.m.
Section G

Whether you were born in the States or abroad, there are common things that connect us and unique things that represent our hearts: food, culture, music, family, friends, and celebrations. You are invited to help build a community that reaches into many different cultures within and outside the church. We seek to use our love for and understanding of cultural diversity to build bridges of friendship and hope to those outside of our church community. Let’s live out Christ’s love for the nations right here in our community.
