The Armor of God

Tuesdays, starting January 9 @ 9:30-11:15
Address

All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you — unseen, unheard, yet felt throughout every aspect of your life. A devoted, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you: your heart, your mind, your marriage, your children, your relationships, your resilience, your dreams, your destiny.

But his battle plan depends on catching you unaware and unarmed. If you're tired of being pushed around and caught with your guard down, this study is for you.

The enemy always fails miserably when he meets a woman dressed for the occasion. The Armor of God, more than merely a biblical description of the believer's inventory, is an action plan for putting it on and developing a personalized strategy to secure victory.

Made to Crave: Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God, Not Food

January 10 - February 21

Has food become your source of comfort? Don't you deserve that big piece of chocolate cake? Lysa TerKeurst used to think so, but that was before God showed her that what she really needed was more of Himself. In Made to Crave, Lysa won't tell you what to eat or how much to exercise, rather she explores why we make unhealthy food choices, and discover what it is you're really seeking, and how that need can only be met in our faithful Heavenly Father.

2 Samuel / 1 Chronicles – The Life of David – A Man After God’s Own Heart – Precept Upon Precept

January 10 - April 30

Arguably, King David was the most famous, most beloved character in the Old Testament. As a type of Christ, a beloved hero and leader, a notorious sinner, and a musician, he captured the heart of his people. Most important is the fact that he was a man after God's heart, a faithful and fearless follower of his God. In the chaos and unpredictability of our current times, join us in studying and emulating this faithful man of God in the Books of 1st and 2nd Samuel.

What to bring

All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you — unseen, unheard, yet felt throughout every aspect of your life. A devoted, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you: your heart, your mind, your marriage, your children, your relationships, your resilience, your dreams, your destiny.

Cherry Hills Community Church offers a large network of support for young mothers through our MOPS program, a charter of MOPS International.

WHO:

Mothers of young children (birth through Kindergarten)

WHAT:

Cherry Hills Community Church offers two MOPS groups to serve the needs of mothers of young children in our community. Our groups meet twice a month to enjoy a hot brunch, hear from dynamic and encouraging speakers, share concerns and ideas, explore creativity and serve our community. Our groups feel small and intimate with a structure of 10 women or less at each table. A typical MOPS meeting schedule looks like this:
  • Tables bringing food arrive. Food is set up before 8:45 a.m.
  • MOPS women arrive and take children to Moppets* rooms
  • Opening prayer and then women socialize and enjoy brunch together.
  • Announcements
  • Guest Speaker
  • Table Discussion
  • Community Service and/or Craft
  • Closing Prayer. Dismiss to pick up children by 11:30 a.m. (Moppets is more than childcare—children are cared for in a loving environment with a structured and fun curriculum)

WHEN:

MOPS Hearts and Stars groups meet on alternating Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. September through May. Additional outings and events are planned throughout the year.

WHERE:

Groups meet at the Cherry Hills Community Church atrium that features stunning mountain views.

COST:

The cost per semester is as follows:
  • $80 without childcare
  • $115 for one child in childcare
  • $125 for two or more children in childcare
  • We also offer limited scholarships. Please email coordinators below to learn more.

SPECIAL NOTES:

To support our childcare costs, women with children in Moppets work in the alternate group’s Moppets program one time each semester. Women select the date of their shifts and childcare is provided. Those who register without children in Moppets do not have to work a shift.
