Volunteer process, background checks

All volunteers complete a volunteer application process which includes an application, nationwide background check, reference calls, and an informal interview. Our volunteer handbook explains best practices and operating standards for anyone working with our children.

Uniformed police on site

There are uniformed police on site during each service time.

Walkie-Talkie communication

Coordinators and volunteer leaders communicate with a walkie-talkie system during weekend children and midweek programs.

Security Patrol Volunteers

We provide Volunteer Security Patrol on Wednesday evenings during our midweek programs.

Children’s Ministry
Grace Place is available for children ages newborn through grade 4 at all weekend services. If you would like help getting your kids settled in their classroom, please visit the Information Desk in the school lobby.

UpHold Special Needs Ministry
UpHold is for children and students with physical and developmental disabilities including autism. Our loving volunteers will assist you with providing a warm and safe environment for your child while you attend one of our two Sunday services.

Bible Blast
Bible Blast is a separate, fun, fast-paced Bible based curriculum that will take children grades K – 5 through an in-depth study of the whole Bible in a year!

Unlike our other Sunday morning options for children, this unique class requires advance registration for the Sunday 9 or 11 a.m. hour. Bible Blasters may attend only at the class time for which they are registered.

If you are looking for a class where the whole family is involved in the family devotional, or a way to deepen your family’s knowledge of the Bible, this program is just for you.

Bible Blast requires parent and child involvement as your family is asked to read the weekly prescribed Bible stories together in advance of the Sunday class.

AWANA Club
Cherry Hills partners with parents and volunteers to present a weekly club on Wednesday evenings for kids that includes Bible teaching, fast-paced games and activities, Scripture memory, awards and more.

More

Kids Choir

Our goal is to encourage and provide a place that allows kids to express their love for Jesus through music. Those participating will be introduced to the fundamentals of music: melody, harmony and rhythm with the addition of choreography to enhance the lyrics. It is our desire to fuse together our love for God and our love for singing and playing! We have a great leadership team and committed volunteers who help us accomplish this weekly as we love and serve our kids!

Infant

Personal nurturing for your child. Parents with children 6 weeks to 18 months can take comfort in knowing that their infants are receiving exceptional, loving care in our nursery while they enjoy worship.

Our nursery is equipped with the perfect necessities for little ones from swings to mobiles to strollers, toys and cribs. And, with a teacher to infant ratio of 1:3, our babies enjoy the close, personal nurturing they require.

Our Worship Center is equipped with two Cry Rooms for parents with young children. The Cry Rooms are located on either side of the middle section on the main floor entering from the lobby.

PreSchool

What a fun place!
Toddler (18 months - age 3)
Children who have reached 18 months of age will graduate to the toddler classes until they are age 3. They will enjoy a biblical curriculum, crafts, outdoor time (as weather permits) and singing. Classes are broken out by your child's date of birth.

Preschool (ages 3-4)
Preschool children have the opportunity to participate in a wonderful biblical lesson, craft, music and outdoor time (as weather permits). Classes are broken out by your child's date of birth.

Pre-K (ages 4-5)
Children who are 4 and 5 years of age (and not in kindergarten) will participate in our pre-kindergarten program. Each week, in addition to enjoying crafts and relevant Bible teachings, these children are escorted to our music room for a special time of praise and singing. The children usually have outdoor time (as weather permits). Classes are broken out by your child's date of birth.

Elementary

Kindergarten - Grade 1
Kids in Kindergarten and grade 1 enjoy drama, music, puppets and video in a large group theater setting called the Fun Factory. Following high-energy teaching, small group leaders continue the lesson through application and interaction back in their classrooms. Classes are split based on grade level and your child's last name.

Treehouse (Grades 2-4)
Our interactive children's theatre for students in grades 2-4 offers a multi-media experience unlike any other. Kids learn weekly Bible lessons through high-energy music, dance and drama as well as thoughtful small group discussion time. Small groups are organized by grade level. Be sure to arrive early for this popular class.

Uphold

Special Needs Ministry
Uphold provides a fun and safe environment for children with physical and developmental challenges to have their individual and spiritual needs met through Bible stories, music, activities and a lot of individual care from trained volunteers.

Bible Blast

Bible Blast and Bible Biz registration is now open.

Bible Blast and Biz are a walk through the Bible for children between the ages of 4 years – 18. This is a motivational, incentive-driven, rewarding program with fun prizes to be earned each week. This program is parent organized, driven and financed. Kids will work on memorizing scripture while having a ton of fun!

The 26 week program starts September 10th and follows the school year calendar with holidays off. There is an orientation class on Sunday August 27th. It is highly encouraged for families to attend this orientation class.
