Trip Overview

As you enter the reservation, you will immediately begin to notice that things are different. Most of the homes have broken windows, there are no yards (only dirt in many cases), and there is trash (and other discarded items) everywhere. You will see kids and dogs wandering the streets, you will notice the sweat lodges, and you will feel the despair and hopelessness of life on the reservation.

As you spend time with the people, you will learn more about the community. You will learn that very few people are employed, that the average life expectancy on the reservation is much less than it is every- where else, that abuse is rampant, that addictions are commonplace, and that poverty permeates the community. You will learn that this all takes place in a spiritual environment where the old traditions of the sweat lodge, the Sun Dance, and the medicine wheel are still practiced.

We invite you to come with us to Lame Deer, Montana and minister to the Northern Cheyenne people. You will have the opportunity to reach out to these “First Nations” people through beautification, construction, and maintenance and repair projects; prayer; sports; music; community events; and relationship evangelism.

Whether working with other team members on a project, playing sports with the locals, or ministering door to door, this will be an experience that will be sure to take you “out of the box”. The goal of this trip is to edify the local church, spread the word of God’s saving grace, and bring hope to the people.
