Shane Farmer
Senior Pastor

“We always talked about living in Colorado and raising our family here,” said Shane
who was a frequent tourist to the state for skiing and mountain climbing during the past decade. When he was contacted about the position at Cherry Hills, Farmer said he and Wendy felt this had been part of God’s plan in their lives all along. Shane took over as Senior Pastor on October 20, 2013.

Maybe You've Noticed ...

Community is our middle name. We're a vibrant congregation of everyday people who come together in many ways—in learning and faith, in raising kids and strengthening marriages, and in discovering the kind of life God desires for each of us.

We come from a variety of backgrounds—including Presbyterian, Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, Episcopal, Pentecostal and others. We also welcome many people who have no previous participation in a church and who are exploring Christianity for the first time.

More important than all these labels, we simply do our best to follow the teaching and example of Jesus Christ. Therefore our calling and purpose is Christ-centered. We strive to exalt Christ in all we do. We seek to bring people to Christ, bond them together and build them up in Christ. And we send people into ministry for Christ.

What We're Known For

Over the years we've developed our own character and personality as a church. Below are some of the things you'll discover about Cherry Hills or select from the Ministries link on the top menu bar to learn about even more ministries.

Family Ministry continues to seek out new ways to address the needs of today’s families. Our church provides a vital gathering place where young hearts and minds can explore faith in Christ.

While we love what happens at Cherry Hills every week, it’s just a fraction of time compared to life at home. That’s why we’re committed to equipping and encouraging parents to engage in the spiritual growth of their children.

Our Grace Place children’s ministry offers a kid-friendly version of our Sunday experience—complete with music, drama and Bible lessons for preschool through grade 4. The Grace Place nursery welcomes the littlest members of your family. Grace Place also offers an array of weekday programs and special events in a fun and spiritually nurturing environment.

Preteen, Junior High and High School students connect in Liquid, our ministry for grades 5–12. In large gatherings on Sundays students explore faith in Christ through the life and language of their generation. Mission projects and mountain retreats provide additional opportunities for growth and friendship.

Cherry Hills offers many ministries that encourage adults to cultivate their spiritual life, while at the same time providing friendship and support from others who share a similar life stage or interests. Men and women, seniors, single or married, are invited to join in, Bible studies, seminars on marriage and relationships, volunteer service, mission teams and more.

Missions & Outreach

We express our commitment to the gospel both locally and globally. Over the years, we’ve partnered with 5 Denver congregations and various city ministries seeking to elevate the urban poor through food banks, tutoring, transitional housing and other neighborhood initiatives. Many from Cherry Hills have traveled around the world with Discover the World short-term mission teams that complement our long-term work with 69 missionaries and ministries in 55 countries.

Cherry Hills Christian School

At Cherry Hills Christian we are partners with you in your child's whole education from PreSchool through Middle School. Cherry Hills Christian is committed to honoring Christ by teaching, encouraging, training and grounding students in God's truth within a dynamic, academic environment.
